Drea Sobke is a Mexican/Swedish movement artist from San Diego, California who’s work closely explores the relationship between the human body and pop, fine art, landscapes, architecture and design. She has performed and/or collaborated closely with Genevieve Carson, Micaela Taylor, Stephanie Zaletel, Roya Carreras, Rebecca Lemme, Laurel Jenkins Tentindo, Nathan Makolandra, Kevin Williamson, David Bridel, Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Helios Dance Theater, Rosanna Gamson/WorldWide, Backausdance, Malashock Dance, San Diego Dance Theater, Heidi Duckler, String Theory Harp, visual artist James Mountford and her partner Robert Amjärv.
Drea's choreography has been presented at NOH Wave Gallery, American College Dance Festival, The Choreography Festival (formerly Dance Under The Stars), SOLA Dance Festival, and most recently was commissioned as a collaborator for Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company's newest immersive work.
Drea holds a BFA in Dance Performance from Chapman University and has additional training in Alexander Technique and Pilates. She is also a 2 time recipient of the Lester Horton Award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance by a Female.
Additional dancer credits include The Emmys, Sundance Film Festival, Porsche, Bvlgari, La Mer, Bench Universe, CottonOn, TEDx, Samsung, Vomir, Southwest Airlines, Ubikwist Magazine and music videos for Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
